About Me:

     Hi, my name is Matt. I'm studying computer science and computer systems engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. I'm 19 years old and I have high ambitions for the years ahead. 

 

Skills:

     I have a programming background in Java and Python. I'm currently beginning my studies of C# and C++. I will be learning C++ in full swing at the start of my second semester during my data structures class. Essentially I'll be studying C++ like a mad man in the coming weeks by necessity - if I hope to pass the class that is. Past IDEs I've used include: Eclipse, Wing101, Visual Studio 2010/2013, and Xamarin Studio. I plan to use Netbeans for Skyfire development as it has native CMake support.

 

Fun Facts:

     I can unicycle, sail, and rockclimb. Who doesn't want those expertise on a development team?

Do you have any sort of experience with the core? What is your general WoW emulation knowledge like? If I said things terms as DBC or player fields would you know what they are?

I also assume you have experience with MySQL since you did a database fix for Arctium, would I be correct in assuming this?

 

Anyway, it's not a decision for me to make so good luck 

     I have experience compiling cores in the past, both with CMake and otherwise. My WoW emulation knowledge spans back all the way from ArcEmu and TrinityCore to Arctium. A DBC is a "database container" and I know those are extracted from the game client's .MPQ files. I would imagine player fields refer to GPS or GUID data within the "character" table of the "worlddb" database. I do have experience with MySQL as well. I have dealt with MySQL and PostgreSQL from the command line. I can also write "base" and "update" MySQL files, as evidenced by my minor database fix for Arctium. The bug fix allowed Night Elves to speak common, just as they do Darnassian.
